let's take a look at the aftermath of that attack in benghazi. we know a couple of navy wars p warships are being positioned off the coast of libya, not with orders yet. they're waiting to see if anything develops there. president obama spoke with the president of libya last night. and also, of course, all of this comes after and in conjunction with the demonstrations that were going on in cairo. we've seen more of those this morning. in an interview, the president talked about our relationship with cairo and he's been criticized by mitt romney for not doing more. let's listen. >> i don't think that we would consider them an ally, but we don't consider them an enemy. they are a new government that is trying to find its way. >> instead, when our grounds are being attacked and being breached, that the first response to the united states must be outrage. >> even some republicans now are criticizing romney for jumping in so quickly while these events were still unfolding. this now a nation in mourning. a vigil in washington last night as those bodies
